About Kelly Lyons
For the past 24 years, I have been teaching art privately and in the classroom.
Creative Kids Studio was established in 2008 in my home where my studio is located.
In order to conduct classes that are enjoyable and productive,
the students are grouped either by age, gender, or skill level. I have found that the children learn a great deal from watching each other and have fun interacting with other students who share their interests, so the classes consist of eight to ten children.
I have a very simple philosophy:
“There are no mistakes in art.” I have witnessed some of the most beautiful works of art emerge from mistakes that children made in class. It has been my experience that children bring their own style and aesthetic to each creative undertaking. I feel as though it is my function to instruct and guide them and help them bring their vision to life.
